Yesterday(15/12/2018) I attended a red carpet event which was a Premiere for Thunqa – The Movie, a Yasibo Media production. This movie is based on the life of Candice(Sharleen uhlebethu Ndlovu) a good church girl who turns rogue after falling in love with a criminal called Ndumo(Palmer Mharadze).
This movie was written and directed by Lenni Mdawini Sibanda and it’s aim is to educate and bring awareness on Drug abuse. It also features Janet Mugocha, Nyasha Mtamangira, Ntando Van Moyo and Sikhanyiso Mlambo. Their makeup was done by Tafadzwa Chipadza and the soundtrack was done by eight9muzic.
Yasibo Media managed to make this event a success through the assistance of Excellence Music and Lee McHoney. A big shout out to the Early Entertainment guys, Annie-Litso, Random Poets and many more other people who managed to come through. Judging by the responses I received from the audience after the screening, Thunqa is indeed an educative movie.
So according to me #StewieLeSavage, I’d give the movie a 7/10 rating and the event a 6/10 rating. Yes it was a well planned event but the turnout wasn’t good.
