The Pink Awareness Campaign

What is Pink Awareness? Is the first question that comes to one’s mind if they hear these words being mentioned. “It is a story of pain driven passion to change the world despite the hardships, using your talent to influence a new era to better mankind or simply to help out the next person” says Mdue Sevan, a producer/dj who is the main face behind the campaign. Pink awareness is a cancer movement/event that was started in 2017 after Mdue Sevan lost both his sister and brother inlaw to cancer.

Despite all the pain and heartache, Mdue Sevan with the help from media personnels, businesses, organizations, television and radio channels. He managed to organize a successful event which received a lot of positive responses. He endured 10 hours of non-stop disc spinning set from 10am to 9pm which had a very emotional ending to the crowd that had shown support. Then after him, supporting djs from around Bulawayo took the night away as if it was their last dj sets.

After the event media companies continued their support on the Pink Awareness and that ended up pushing MdueSevan to make it an annual event. So this year he decided to make it bigger though unfortunately he won’t play for 10hrs but there’ll be educators educating people on cancer. Part of the event is a walk that will take off from City hall at 10.30am.

So according to me #StewieLeSavage, if we hold hands and work in one accord we can beat cancer. It all begins with me and you.
